USBPO Organization
- Task Groups study and respond to specific burning plasma questions, issues and concerns
that can be addressed during a period of weeks or months. Task Groups are authorized by the
USBPO Director, who evaluates requests from the Research Committee, Council, the U.S.
Department of Energy, and U.S. and international organizations that support ITER's
mission. Task Groups are comprised of USBPO members of any Topical Group, although
non-members may be invited to participate with approval of the USBPO Director.
